One more hitta from the late great legend, 2Pac Shakur feat. Dr. Dre and Roger Troutman, “California Love.” One of my allllll time favorites. I remember it was one of the first songs I fell in love with when I first got a taste of Pac at a young age. Love this classic! Came out December of ’95 after he was released from prison (as usual lol) and was his first single from him after signing with Death Row Records. RIP and Happy Birthday to Mr. Thug Life himself, Tupac Shakur!

Man…..this man has influenced my life in more ways than one without me ever meeting him or even being alive for too long (i was born in ’92 , Pac died in ’96) and i was captivated by this poet just being a little kid. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO TUPAC AMARU SHAKUR. In honor of this legend’s birthday, here’s a classic “I Ain’t Mad At Cha.” This joint was off his “All Eyez on Me,” album and was released after his death even though the album came out 7 months prior to his untimely passing. 2Pac would have been 43 years old today. We miss you Makaveli ! But God had a better plan, and we ain’t mad at cha.! RIP !

AND FINALLY, (long list of Gemini’s geeze!) my last birthday s/o goes to MY HUSBAND (yes because in my mind he is my husband, we have a dog named Blue, and a white picket fence over seeing Atlanta with a butler named Jeeves) MR. ANDRE 3000! Here’s one of my personal favorite verses/collabs from him with UGK and Big Boi, the classic, “Int’l Players Anthem (I Choose You.)” (i was going to put up his classic “Roses” from “The Love Below,” BUT i wanted to show off his lyricism =p) Words CANNOT express how much I love this man’s talent. He OOZES it. Been in love with OutKast since i was a lil tyke running around tryna be grown listening to my brother’s OutKast albums, and loved him even more when he started working on his solo shxt. Happy 39th birthday Andre Lauren Benjamin and RIP PIMP C!

So in honor of throwback thursday, I’ve got to continue to show my love for the west coast by putting up this classic from NWA’s Ice Cube, “It Was A Good Day.” The classic hit was released February of ’93 from Cube’s album “The Predator.” The joint samples the Isley Brother’s melodic classic, “Footsteps in the Dark,” and the video was directed by F. Gary Gray. It peaked at the Billboard Hot 100 chart at number 78 and is still to this day, a classic, smooth joint. Enjoy folks, happy Thursday.

SO, in honor of the Notorious B.I.G.’s 42nd birthday, I gotta post one of his classics, “Sky’s The Limit” featuring 112. Gotta continue to dream BIG folks….listen to the message kids! Enjoy and again, Happy Birthday BIG! RIP.

SO one last Throwback Thursday before the festivities of this day end. I got put on to QB maybe about a year ago. I’m not picking sides, BUT, this female battle rapper GOT IT. I’ve been following a few of her battles including posts on her upcoming one “No Holds Barred” which will June 28th, 2014 where she will be battling fellow female battle rapper Phara. (which i do hope to attend ^_^). Here’s a classic battle and my personal fave with the female battle rapper going at it with Don Ladyii at Babs Bunny’s “Queen of The Ring.”

SOOOO, in honor of my second week participating in the throwback thursday festivities, I have to put up one of my favorite hip hop legends Mr. Big PUN-isher himself feat. R&B help from Joe, “Still Not A Player.” The song was a remix from Big Pun’s previous single “I’m Not A Player,” and sampled from r&b singer Joe’s “Don’t Wanna Be A Player.” The classic joint was released March 28th, 1998 and was the most successful single released by Big Pun due to chart statuses. The single appears on Big Pun’s 1998 debut album “Capital Punishment.” RIP Christopher Rios AKA BIG PUN ! #SALUTE #LEGEND
